Coach Certification & Oversight
All coaches hold youth-sport certifications, CPR training, and concussion education. Each session is overseen to ensure safety, proper technique, and mutual respect.
Dynamic Warm-Up & Recovery
Athletes complete multi-phase warm-ups including mobility, dynamic stretch, and sports-specific drills. Cool-downs focus on static stretching, breathing, and joint care to help prevent both acute and overuse injuries.
Health Education & Monitoring
Student-athletes receive guidance on safe weight management, hydration, and rest. Staff and parents monitor health markers, and we adjust sessions for illness or fatigue.
Injury Monitoring & Protocols
High school wrestling has one of the highest injury rates—2.3–2.5 per 1,000 exposures, with most being sprains, strains, concussions, and contusions. We enforce:
- Regular skin checks to prevent infections (e.g., MRSA, ringworm)
- Immediate concussion management, mandatory medical clearance, and graded return to training
- Technique over aggression in drills—live sparring only when safe skills are in place
- Focused awareness on injury-prone positions like takedowns (common in 39% of injuries)

Real Feedback
FAQ
How often and when do practices occur?
We host 3–4 evening practices weekly, plus optional weekend scrimmages. Summer includes focused training camps. Regular consistency builds success—athletes with 80 %+ attendance progress fastest.
Is competition mandatory?
No. The choice to wrestle in school tournaments or club events is left to the athlete. Training and growth are prioritized, regardless of competitive involvement.
What gear is required?
Wrestling shoes, headgear, mouth guard, and practice attire are required. Starter gear can be borrowed or purchased via our pro shop—no upfront commitment for new wrestlers.
How do you prevent skin infections?
Skin checks every session, mandatory mat shoes, and regular sterilization. Any active skin infection must be cleared by a physician before practice, per health guidelines.
What about concussions?
Concussion awareness is taken seriously. Suspected cases trigger immediate removal from practice, medical evaluation, and adherence to return-to-play protocols—no exceptions.
Can female wrestlers participate?
High school wrestling is fully co-ed, and our club welcomes girls to train, compete, and lead. Female participation has risen in recognition and success.
How is weight management handled?
Our focus is on healthy growth, not rapid weight-cutting. Athletes receive nutrition education, proper hydration habits, and long-term strength development plans.
What mental training do you offer?
We teach visualization, breathing exercises, match preparation techniques, and post-practice reflection, helping athletes boost performance under pressure.
